It is a spring-thing that I love to do–the searching for the early spring flowers in the woodland.Β  Three of my favorites are the dainty, pink-hued Spring Beauties, the lily-white of the Bloodroot and the lacy green-leaf of the Dutchman Breeches. Have you ever stopped to consider or think about these fragile flowers?

The word π’„π’π’π’”π’Šπ’…π’†π’“ means to think carefully about.

Consider…the growth of the flowers

They push their way through the decayed leaves of years past. These flowers draw essential nutrients from the decomposition of last year’s plants. They flourish in spite of what they had to grow through.

God wants us to grow like that. There is stuff we have to go through, yet God wants us to also grow through it.Β  God alone, can use the parts of life that leave us a bit decomposed and crumbling, for our good (Romans 8:28).

It is through the disintegration of self that God can replenish us with the nutrients of His Spirit.Β  As we live with dependence on God, He will infuse us with His strength and cause us to flourish.

Consider…the arrival of the flowers

consider spring

The seed that unfurls and pushes its way through dirt and decay, arrives unsmudged on the topside of the soil. These flowers arrive with an unsurpassedΒ  beauty and a pristine newness.

God has promised us a glorious entrance into heaven (2 Peter 1:11). Our entrance will be much like the arrival of spring flowers with the beauty of JesusΒ  upon us. It is as we live in close communion with our Savior, in this world, that we will arrive unsmudged and unspotted in the next.Β

It is the mission of Jesus to transform us into His image and present us faultless before the Father (Jude 1:24)

Consider…the raiment of the flowers

The woodland wildflowers are cloaked with a glory that surpasses Solomon’s wardrobe. It is God that has arrayed them with such beauty.Β  Within this thought is the call to trust. A call to release the control and worry about our lives.

Jesus provides us with this word picture as a reminder of the value and care He places on creation. Yet, Jesus emphasizes our greater value. Because of the high worth God places on us, we can rest on the promise of His presence, provision and peace.

Stop and consider…

  • You grow through what you go through.
  • God is faithful to work all things for your good.
  • Your transformation is God’s mission.
  • You are highly valued by God.
