In the Beginning

The cadence of his love for us was found in the evening walks with his creation. His pulsing love for us was formed in the rhythm of relationship. The measure of his love was found when sin happened. Moreover redemptions plan spans the ages of time. God was not in a hurry. The waiting intervals between the phases of God’s plan was not mismanaged.

When Noah began to build the ark, the 120 years it took him wasn’t a problem to God. The twelve years Joseph spent in prison were not wasted. Jacobs long years of heartache were not without gain. The 40 years Moses spent in the desert were not squandered. David’s years as a shepherd were not pointless. Furthermore, his cave dwelling experience when on the run from Saul was not a bungled mishap by God. It was in these times that God was forming his people into the image of Himself. God stepped into these spaces and made what was wrong into an absolute advantage. These examples remind us that God has experience in correcting the erroneous.

Though the years were long and the circumstances were undesirable God had an unerring plan for each one of his people. In this fact we gain hope. His plan for your life is not flawed. You may be broken and weeping but your story is not over. He has time to bring healing to your life. He is not in a rush. In the waiting, God is there.

Through the Tests of Time

Though it seems like the sands of time are running low in the context of our lives, God has an abundant supply. The allotted hours of our day can feel insufficient. However God’s season is never deficient. When the answer is long in coming, pause and remember that God has time enough. Moreover, He is enough throughout the tests of time.
